While other indoor play places in the Twin Cities have either small tot areas or just throw the littles in with the big kids, the planners of Eagle's Nest created a large enough space with enough options to keep the tot entertained for hours. And you don't have to worry about losing a little one in a myriad of tunnels 7 stories high.
The Eaglets Aerie, for children 3 and under, has its own colorful ball pit, challenging climbing structure, reading corner and other activities geared toward the early development of toddlers.
My 2-year-old especially loved the looped tunnel -- and I loved it because I didn't have to crawl in with him but there was only one way out.
Meanwhile, my 5-year-old romped through the play structure geared for older kiddos. There's a large ball pit, an 8 ft. climbing wall, and a triple slide. Plus, they can find their way through the wiggle waggles and the foam forest!
There were plenty of tables for us to enjoy our picnic lunch at as they stretch down the hall between the play area and the library. I was astonished to see a Subway inside the facility - and it was busy the entire time we were there.
IF YOU GO
- Forget to pack a lunch? Don't worry. There's a Subway in the building.
- There are plenty of cubbies out in the hall. If you're going to be inside the Toddler area, use the cubbies over there.
- If you and your kids are still good to go after 6 p.m. Mondays to Fridays, check out the Twilight Special. Admission is just $3 -- over half off.
- Be sure to wear socks. If you forget, you can buy a pair there for $2.50.
ADMISSION
- $6.50 for ages 12 months to 12 years
